MARCH 2024

Let your Mess become your message.

Life throws sh*t at all of us. In my case, it came in the form of a puck to the throat—losing my voice at a charity hockey game 8 years ago.

Growing up as a secret music-maker (performing to myself in cars, showers, closets) and a December birthday diva who threw childhood birthday parties at ice rinks, this felt like the perfect storm. Opening my mouth to scream with no sound coming out felt like an actual nightmare on ice. 🥁 🏒

What I didn’t realize was that losing my voice would finally teach me how to use it. Perfect in its imperfections.

We all have scars and stains we might want to hide… but maybe exposing them is where the healing lies.

“Why bother?
Because right now there is someone
Out there with
a wound in the exact shape
of your words.”

Thank you @kaceyphoto for creating these beautiful photos, concept, and inky-blue shirt. When you gifted me your book UNIFORM you wrote “Let your words fill the wound of someone else.” And now this concept filled the shape of mine—in blue ink bleeding from the heart. Thank you from the bottom of my inky-blue heart.

Keep sharing your stories! Use your voice.
